Scott Nakamura, DMD

Dr. Scott Nakamura was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he attended Iolani High School. After graduating, he attended University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon where he majored in Biology.

Dr. Nakamura continued his education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and received his dental degree in 1994. He continued his postgraduate training in Periodontics and Periodontal-Prosthesis at the University of Pennsylvania. From 1997, Dr. Nakamura worked in the University of Pennsylvania Faculty Network Practice, where he placed and restored dental implants, performed various periodontal procedures, provided both fixed and removable prosthetics, as well as practiced general dentistry.

In 2006, Dr. Nakamura accepted a teaching position as Clinical Assistant Professor and Primary Care Unit Group Leader in the Department of Preventative and Restorative Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, until 2011.

Outside the office, Dr. Nakamura is Vice-President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Japanese American Citizen's League, is on the board of the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia, and is a member representative on the Philadelphia Japan 7 Network. He also enjoys playing the piano and the viola.

Dr. Nakamura is married with twin daughters and resides in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
